Passionfruit box mod IQOS in San José: the order shortlist
Passionfruit in San José: 13 units tested over 5 weeks, box mod formats, priced per 10 ml for Costa Rica.
How we tested Passionfruit box mod here
Passionfruit prices move with import duty more than with brand. In San José that means the entry option and the premium option can close to within ₡3.03 per 10 ml.
A passionfruit box mod from the pre-order options in Costa Rica costs about ₡3.03 per 10 ml once delivery is counted. That number decides whether the habit survives the first month, not the sticker price.
The short version: passionfruit in San José works if the box mod, the coil and the strength are chosen as one system. Everything below is what we measured while doing exactly that.
What a passionfruit box mod really costs in San José
Ordering into San José usually means waiting 4–9 business days. Plan the reorder around that, not around the flavour you like best.
How we tested passionfruit in a box mod
- Choose strength against the ceiling in Costa Rica, which is the local legal limit for retail here.
- Settle the draw first: mouth-to-lung or direct-to-lung, because it decides the coil and the liquid.
- Pick the box mod that fits the device already on your desk, not the one on the headline page.
- Returns window and who pays return postage when a box mod arrives sealed but wrong.
- The listed nicotine ceiling, which is the local legal limit in Costa Rica, not a suggestion.
- Stock depth: 13 lines held, so the shortlist does not turn into a special order.
- Child-resistant cap and tamper band on every passionfruit bottle shipped into Costa Rica.
Where passionfruit goes wrong
- Matching strength to the device instead of the draw, which is why passionfruit tastes flat after two days.
- Ignoring the batch date on a box mod and discovering the listed price was for old stock.
- Skipping the spare coil, which is the single part that decides how long passionfruit in San José survives.
The rules that apply here
Costa Rica regulates nicotine imports under its health authority. Shipping of nicotine to Costa Rica runs through tracked freight only, which is why the quoted window is stated per order.
Retail sales in Costa Rica sit under the same nicotine the label declares, which is the local legal limit. Anything above it is not sold through this channel.

Frequently asked questions
Is passionfruit legal to sell in Costa Rica?
Costa Rica regulates nicotine imports under its health authority.
How much does a box mod cost per 10 ml?
On the last run in San José: about ₡3.03 per 10 ml liquid plus ₡68 for the entry kit, before any bulk discount.
Why does passionfruit taste burnt?
Almost always the coil, not the liquid. On the box mod units we ran, a coil past 7 days turned the passionfruit blend itself harsh.
