Pear pod kit IQOS in San José: the flat shortlist
Pear in San José: 24 units tested over 5 weeks, pod kit formats, priced per 10 ml for Costa Rica.
Choosing a pod kit for pear
Pear prices move with import duty more than with brand. In San José that means the entry option and the premium option can close to within ₡2.62 per 10 ml.
We run pear the same way in San José: same pod kit, same 5 days, same coil resistance. The only variable was the coil, and that turned out to be the thing buyers get wrong.
Below is the run we did for this search: 24 units, pod kit, same room temperature, same juice rotation. Where results varied, the variation is printed rather than averaged away.
What a pear pod kit really costs in San José
Pear pod kit reviews tend to be written after one tank. We run 24 units and 5 days per unit, because that is where the honest answer changes.
How we tested pear in a pod kit
- Order before 14:00 so the parcel leaves the same day and lands inside 4–9 business days.
- Settle the draw first: mouth-to-lung or direct-to-lung, because it decides the coil and the liquid.
- Choose strength against the ceiling in Costa Rica, which is the local legal limit for retail here.
- A dated dispatch promise: before 14:00 same day, tracked, so no order is held to a warehouse cut-off.
- Coil type inside the pod kit, because mesh and wire age at different rates.
- The listed nicotine ceiling, which is the local legal limit in Costa Rica, not a suggestion.
- Batch code and production date, so a pear bottle turned in 5 weeks ago is not sold as new.
Where pear goes wrong
- Buying the cheapest pod kit available and repeating it because the first coil burnt.
- Mixing pear with a coil rated for a different wattage, which dulls the flavour and drains liquid faster.
- Chasing a discount on a pod kit that then needs an adapter nobody in Costa Rica stocks.
The rules that apply here
Retail sales in Costa Rica sit under the same nicotine the label declares, which is the local legal limit. Anything above it is not sold through this channel.
Wholesale lines to Costa Rica need import documents the retail shop does not; ask for them in writing before a bulk order.
