Mint refill pack IQOS in San José: the review shortlist
Mint in San José: 11 units tested over 2 weeks, refill pack formats, priced per 10 ml for Costa Rica.
Coil life, liquid cost and the mint habit
Mint refill pack reviews tend to be written after one tank. We run 11 units and 2 days per unit, because that is where the honest answer changes.
Mint in San José reaches the shelf in refill pack formats, and the reviewed ones are rarely the ones that stay in stock. Availability, not taste, is what breaks an order.
Below is the run we did for this search: 11 units, refill pack, same room temperature, same juice rotation. Where results varied, the variation is printed rather than averaged away.
What a mint refill pack really costs in San José
The honest read on mint: 11 units through the same routine over 2 weeks, and the difference between a good batch and a bad one came down to batch age, not the sticker price.
How we tested mint in a refill pack
- Settle the draw first: mouth-to-lung or direct-to-lung, because it decides the coil and the liquid.
- Order before 14:00 so the parcel leaves the same day and lands inside 4–9 business days.
- Choose strength against the ceiling in Costa Rica, which is the local legal limit for retail here.
- Stock depth: 11 lines held, so the shortlist does not turn into a special order.
- Child-resistant cap and tamper band on every mint bottle shipped into Costa Rica.
- The listed nicotine ceiling, which is the local legal limit in Costa Rica, not a suggestion.
- Returns window and who pays return postage when a refill pack arrives sealed but wrong.
Where mint goes wrong
- Assuming varies is uniform across brands, because two suppliers can label the same number differently.
- Chasing a discount on a refill pack that then needs an adapter nobody in Costa Rica stocks.
- Ordering in bulk without checking whether couriers in Costa Rica accept nicotine freight.
The rules that apply here
Retail sales in Costa Rica sit under the same nicotine the label declares, which is the local legal limit. Anything above it is not sold through this channel.

Frequently asked questions
What nicotine strength should mint start at?
Start at whatever Costa Rica allows on the label. If you already smoke, drop one step; if not, half of it for a refill pack.
How long does mint in a refill pack last?
In San José we measured 2 to 11 days per unit depending on the coil. The bottle outlasts the coil, so the coil is what you replace.
Is mint legal to sell in Costa Rica?
Costa Rica regulates nicotine imports under its health authority.
