Mint 30 ml shortfill IQOS in San José: the budget shortlist
Mint in San José: 15 units tested over 9 weeks, 30 ml shortfill formats, priced per 10 ml for Costa Rica.
How we tested Mint 30 ml shortfill here
If you are looking at mint in Costa Rica, the first question is not strength. It is whether the 30 ml shortfill you are quoting actually fits the device on your desk.
Ordering into San José usually means waiting 4–9 business days. Plan the reorder around that, not around the flavour you like best.
If you only read one line: the 30 ml shortfill you buy decides how long mint tastes right, and the coil inside it decides how long that is.
What a mint 30 ml shortfill really costs in San José
A mint 30 ml shortfill from the budget options in Costa Rica costs about ₡1.75 per 10 ml once delivery is counted. That number decides whether the habit survives the first month, not the sticker price.
How we tested mint in a 30 ml shortfill
- Choose strength against the ceiling in Costa Rica, which is the local legal limit for retail here.
- Order before 14:00 so the parcel leaves the same day and lands inside 4–9 business days.
- Pick the 30 ml shortfill that fits the device already on your desk, not the one on the headline page.
- Batch code and production date, so a mint bottle turned in 9 weeks ago is not sold as new.
- The listed nicotine ceiling, which is the local legal limit in Costa Rica, not a suggestion.
- A dated dispatch promise: before 14:00 same day, tracked, so no order is held to a warehouse cut-off.
- Returns window and who pays return postage when a 30 ml shortfill arrives sealed but wrong.
Where mint goes wrong
- Matching strength to the device instead of the draw, which is why mint tastes flat after two days.
- Ignoring the batch date on a 30 ml shortfill and discovering the listed price was for old stock.
- Mixing mint with a coil rated for a different wattage, which dulls the flavour and drains liquid faster.
The rules that apply here

Frequently asked questions
How long does mint in a 30 ml shortfill last?
In San José we measured 9 to 15 days per unit depending on the coil. The bottle outlasts the coil, so the coil is what you replace.
Is mint legal to sell in Costa Rica?
Costa Rica regulates nicotine imports under its health authority.
Why does mint taste burnt?
Almost always the coil, not the liquid. On the 30 ml shortfill units we ran, a coil past 5 days turned the mint blend itself harsh.
