Graphite pod kit IQOS in San José: the guide shortlist
Graphite in San José: 9 units tested over 2 weeks, pod kit formats, priced per 10 ml for Costa Rica.
What graphite costs in San José
A graphite pod kit from the starter options in Costa Rica costs about ₡2.17 per 10 ml once delivery is counted. That number decides whether the habit survives the first month, not the sticker price.
Graphite in San José reaches the shelf in pod kit formats, and the starter ones are rarely the ones that stay in stock. Availability, not taste, is what breaks an order.
If you only read one line: the pod kit you buy decides how long graphite tastes right, and the coil inside it decides how long that is.
What a graphite pod kit really costs in San José
Graphite in a pod kit is not the same product you see in a catalogue photo, and the price per 10 ml is where the gap shows. In San José the liquid, the coil and the power setting all have to agree before the flavour actually lands.
How we tested graphite in a pod kit
- Choose strength against the ceiling in Costa Rica, which is the local legal limit for retail here.
- Settle the draw first: mouth-to-lung or direct-to-lung, because it decides the coil and the liquid.
- Order before 14:00 so the parcel leaves the same day and lands inside 4–9 business days.
- Batch code and production date, so a graphite bottle turned in 2 weeks ago is not sold as new.
- The landed price per 10 ml after 4–9 business days, which is the only number worth comparing.
- A dated dispatch promise: before 14:00 same day, tracked, so no order is held to a warehouse cut-off.
- Spare parts availability for pod kit in Costa Rica, since tanks and pods go first.
Where graphite goes wrong
- Matching strength to the device instead of the draw, which is why graphite tastes flat after two days.
- Mixing graphite with a coil rated for a different wattage, which dulls the flavour and drains liquid faster.
- Assuming varies is uniform across brands, because two suppliers can label the same number differently.
The rules that apply here
Wholesale lines to Costa Rica need import documents the retail shop does not; ask for them in writing before a bulk order.
Retail sales in Costa Rica sit under the same nicotine the label declares, which is the local legal limit. Anything above it is not sold through this channel.

Frequently asked questions
How long does graphite in a pod kit last?
In San José we measured 2 to 9 days per unit depending on the coil. The bottle outlasts the coil, so the coil is what you replace.
Why does graphite taste burnt?
Almost always the coil, not the liquid. On the pod kit units we ran, a coil past 6 days turned the graphite blend itself harsh.
Is graphite legal to sell in Costa Rica?
Costa Rica regulates nicotine imports under its health authority.
