Where buyers go wrong with frozen in Costa Rica
Most people searching IQOS in Costa Rica are not after a spec sheet. They want to know what it costs, how long it lasts and which shop will still service it in three months.
Frozen starter kit reviews tend to be written after one tank. We run 19 units and 3 days per unit, because that is where the honest answer changes.
The short version: frozen in San José works if the starter kit, the coil and the strength are chosen as one system. Everything below is what we measured while doing exactly that.
What a frozen starter kit really costs in San José
Frozen starter kit reviews tend to be written after one tank. We run 19 units and 3 days per unit, because that is where the honest answer changes.
How we tested frozen in a starter kit
- Choose strength against the ceiling in Costa Rica, which is the local legal limit for retail here.
- Pick the starter kit that fits the device already on your desk, not the one on the headline page.
- Settle the draw first: mouth-to-lung or direct-to-lung, because it decides the coil and the liquid.
- Coil type inside the starter kit, because mesh and wire age at different rates.
- A dated dispatch promise: before 14:00 same day, tracked, so no order is held to a warehouse cut-off.
- Returns window and who pays return postage when a starter kit arrives sealed but wrong.
- The landed price per 10 ml after 4–9 business days, which is the only number worth comparing.
Where frozen goes wrong
- Mixing frozen with a coil rated for a different wattage, which dulls the flavour and drains liquid faster.
- Treating the advertised ₡30 entry kit as the real cost when refills run ₡2.98 per 10 ml.
- Matching strength to the device instead of the draw, which is why frozen tastes flat after two days.
The rules that apply here
Wholesale lines to Costa Rica need import documents the retail shop does not; ask for them in writing before a bulk order.
Packaging for frozen in Costa Rica must be child-resistant, and the batch code has to be readable without cutting the shrink wrap.

| Entry kit | ₡30 | What a first order really pays |
| Refill cost | ₡2.98 / 10 ml | The figure that decides the habit |
