Sour 30 ml shortfill IQOS in San José: the best shortlist
Sour in San José: 21 units tested over 4 weeks, 30 ml shortfill formats, priced per 10 ml for Costa Rica.
Coil life, liquid cost and the sour habit
Sour 30 ml shortfill reviews tend to be written after one tank. We run 21 units and 4 days per unit, because that is where the honest answer changes.
Sour sounds like one product. It is not: a 30 ml shortfill running varies will taste nothing like the same blend on a different device, which is why we test before we recommend.
If you only read one line: the 30 ml shortfill you buy decides how long sour tastes right, and the coil inside it decides how long that is.
What a sour 30 ml shortfill really costs in San José
Most people searching IQOS in Costa Rica are not after a spec sheet. They want to know what it costs, how long it lasts and which shop will still service it in three months.
How we tested sour in a 30 ml shortfill
- Pick the 30 ml shortfill that fits the device already on your desk, not the one on the headline page.
- Choose strength against the ceiling in Costa Rica, which is the local legal limit for retail here.
- Order before 14:00 so the parcel leaves the same day and lands inside 4–9 business days.
- Batch code and production date, so a sour bottle turned in 4 weeks ago is not sold as new.
- A dated dispatch promise: before 14:00 same day, tracked, so no order is held to a warehouse cut-off.
- Coil type inside the 30 ml shortfill, because mesh and wire age at different rates.
- Returns window and who pays return postage when a 30 ml shortfill arrives sealed but wrong.
Where sour goes wrong
- Ignoring the batch date on a 30 ml shortfill and discovering the listed price was for old stock.
- Chasing a discount on a 30 ml shortfill that then needs an adapter nobody in Costa Rica stocks.
- Matching strength to the device instead of the draw, which is why sour tastes flat after two days.
The rules that apply here
Retail sales in Costa Rica sit under the same nicotine the label declares, which is the local legal limit. Anything above it is not sold through this channel.
Packaging for sour in Costa Rica must be child-resistant, and the batch code has to be readable without cutting the shrink wrap.
| What it is | This page | Why it matters |
|---|---|---|

| Stock checked | 21 lines | Batch-traced, dated production runs only |
| Nicotine ceiling | varies | Legal retail limit in Costa Rica |
| Coil life | ~4 days | The hidden monthly cost |
| Delivery to Costa Rica | 4–9 business days | Buffer the reorder around this |
| Entry kit | ₡43 | What a first order really pays |
| Refill cost | ₡1.91 / 10 ml | The figure that decides the habit |

Frequently asked questions
Can I order IQOS online in Costa Rica?
Yes, tracked dispatch before 14:00, and delivery lands in 4–9 business days. Stock is batch-traced, so the bottle you receive carries a dated code.
How long does sour in a 30 ml shortfill last?
In San José we measured 4 to 21 days per unit depending on the coil. The bottle outlasts the coil, so the coil is what you replace.
What nicotine strength should sour start at?
Start at whatever Costa Rica allows on the label. If you already smoke, drop one step; if not, half of it for a 30 ml shortfill.
