Frozen squonk mod IQOS in San José: the flat shortlist
Frozen in San José: 10 units tested over 9 weeks, squonk mod formats, priced per 10 ml for Costa Rica.
What frozen costs in San José
Frozen in San José reaches the shelf in squonk mod formats, and the flat-rate ones are rarely the ones that stay in stock. Availability, not taste, is what breaks an order.
Frozen prices move with import duty more than with brand. In San José that means the entry option and the premium option can close to within ₡2.85 per 10 ml.
Below is the run we did for this search: 10 units, squonk mod, same room temperature, same juice rotation. Where results varied, the variation is printed rather than averaged away.
What a frozen squonk mod really costs in San José
The honest read on frozen: 10 units through the same routine over 9 weeks, and the difference between a good batch and a bad one came down to batch age, not the sticker price.
How we tested frozen in a squonk mod
- Pick the squonk mod that fits the device already on your desk, not the one on the headline page.
- Choose strength against the ceiling in Costa Rica, which is the local legal limit for retail here.
- Order before 14:00 so the parcel leaves the same day and lands inside 4–9 business days.
- Batch code and production date, so a frozen bottle turned in 9 weeks ago is not sold as new.
- Child-resistant cap and tamper band on every frozen bottle shipped into Costa Rica.
- Coil type inside the squonk mod, because mesh and wire age at different rates.
- Stock depth: 10 lines held, so the shortlist does not turn into a special order.
Where frozen goes wrong
- Matching strength to the device instead of the draw, which is why frozen tastes flat after two days.
- Assuming varies is uniform across brands, because two suppliers can label the same number differently.
- Ordering in bulk without checking whether couriers in Costa Rica accept nicotine freight.
The rules that apply here
Costa Rica regulates nicotine imports under its health authority.
Retail sales in Costa Rica sit under the same nicotine the label declares, which is the local legal limit. Anything above it is not sold through this channel.
