Cream pen device IQOS in San José: the price shortlist
Cream in San José: 6 units tested over 2 weeks, pen device formats, priced per 10 ml for Costa Rica.
What the label on Cream is allowed to say
The honest read on cream: 6 units through the same routine over 2 weeks, and the difference between a good batch and a bad one came down to batch age, not the sticker price.
A cream pen device from the value options in Costa Rica costs about ₡3.46 per 10 ml once delivery is counted. That number decides whether the habit survives the first month, not the sticker price.
Below is the run we did for this search: 6 units, pen device, same room temperature, same juice rotation. Where results varied, the variation is printed rather than averaged away.
What a cream pen device really costs in San José
Cream prices move with import duty more than with brand. In San José that means the entry option and the premium option can close to within ₡3.46 per 10 ml.
How we tested cream in a pen device
- Choose strength against the ceiling in Costa Rica, which is the local legal limit for retail here.
- Order before 14:00 so the parcel leaves the same day and lands inside 4–9 business days.
- Pick the pen device that fits the device already on your desk, not the one on the headline page.
- Clear PG/VG ratio on the label, which predicts throat hit more accurately than strength.
- Returns window and who pays return postage when a pen device arrives sealed but wrong.
- The landed price per 10 ml after 4–9 business days, which is the only number worth comparing.
- Stock depth: 6 lines held, so the shortlist does not turn into a special order.
Where cream goes wrong
- Matching strength to the device instead of the draw, which is why cream tastes flat after two days.
- Mixing cream with a coil rated for a different wattage, which dulls the flavour and drains liquid faster.
- Treating the advertised ₡43 entry kit as the real cost when refills run ₡3.46 per 10 ml.
