How we tested Candy box mod here
A candy box mod from the discounted options in Costa Rica costs about ₡2.46 per 10 ml once delivery is counted. That number decides whether the habit survives the first month, not the sticker price.
Candy prices move with import duty more than with brand. In San José that means the entry option and the premium option can close to within ₡2.46 per 10 ml.
The short version: candy in San José works if the box mod, the coil and the strength are chosen as one system. Everything below is what we measured while doing exactly that.
What a candy box mod really costs in San José
The honest read on candy: 8 units through the same routine over 2 weeks, and the difference between a good batch and a bad one came down to batch age, not the sticker price.
How we tested candy in a box mod
- Choose strength against the ceiling in Costa Rica, which is the local legal limit for retail here.
- Pick the box mod that fits the device already on your desk, not the one on the headline page.
- Order before 14:00 so the parcel leaves the same day and lands inside 4–9 business days.
- The landed price per 10 ml after 4–9 business days, which is the only number worth comparing.
- Stock depth: 8 lines held, so the shortlist does not turn into a special order.
- Batch code and production date, so a candy bottle turned in 2 weeks ago is not sold as new.
- Coil type inside the box mod, because mesh and wire age at different rates.
Where candy goes wrong
- Chasing a discount on a box mod that then needs an adapter nobody in Costa Rica stocks.
- Ignoring the batch date on a box mod and discovering the listed price was for old stock.
- Skipping the spare coil, which is the single part that decides how long candy in San José survives.
The rules that apply here
Packaging for candy in Costa Rica must be child-resistant, and the batch code has to be readable without cutting the shrink wrap.
