Cola 30 ml shortfill IQOS in San José: the flat shortlist
Cola in San José: 21 units tested over 5 weeks, 30 ml shortfill formats, priced per 10 ml for Costa Rica.
How we tested Cola 30 ml shortfill here
Cola sounds like one product. It is not: a 30 ml shortfill running varies will taste nothing like the same blend on a different device, which is why we test before we recommend.
Cola prices move with import duty more than with brand. In San José that means the entry option and the premium option can close to within ₡3.25 per 10 ml.
Below is the run we did for this search: 21 units, 30 ml shortfill, same room temperature, same juice rotation. Where results varied, the variation is printed rather than averaged away.
What a cola 30 ml shortfill really costs in San José
We run cola the same way in San José: same 30 ml shortfill, same 5 days, same coil resistance. The only variable was the coil, and that turned out to be the thing buyers get wrong.
How we tested cola in a 30 ml shortfill
- Pick the 30 ml shortfill that fits the device already on your desk, not the one on the headline page.
- Order before 14:00 so the parcel leaves the same day and lands inside 4–9 business days.
- Settle the draw first: mouth-to-lung or direct-to-lung, because it decides the coil and the liquid.
- Batch code and production date, so a cola bottle turned in 5 weeks ago is not sold as new.
- The listed nicotine ceiling, which is the local legal limit in Costa Rica, not a suggestion.
- The landed price per 10 ml after 4–9 business days, which is the only number worth comparing.
- Returns window and who pays return postage when a 30 ml shortfill arrives sealed but wrong.
Where cola goes wrong
- Ordering in bulk without checking whether couriers in Costa Rica accept nicotine freight.
- Chasing a discount on a 30 ml shortfill that then needs an adapter nobody in Costa Rica stocks.
- Mixing cola with a coil rated for a different wattage, which dulls the flavour and drains liquid faster.
The rules that apply here
Costa Rica regulates nicotine imports under its health authority.
Retail sales in Costa Rica sit under the same nicotine the label declares, which is the local legal limit. Anything above it is not sold through this channel.

Frequently asked questions
Is cola legal to sell in Costa Rica?
Costa Rica regulates nicotine imports under its health authority.
Why does cola taste burnt?
Almost always the coil, not the liquid. On the 30 ml shortfill units we ran, a coil past 5 days turned the cola blend itself harsh.
How long does cola in a 30 ml shortfill last?
In San José we measured 5 to 21 days per unit depending on the coil. The bottle outlasts the coil, so the coil is what you replace.
