Citrus RDA IQOS in San José: the budget shortlist
Citrus in San José: 14 units tested over 5 weeks, RDA formats, priced per 10 ml for Costa Rica.
Choosing a RDA for citrus
A citrus RDA from the budget options in Costa Rica costs about ₡1.92 per 10 ml once delivery is counted. That number decides whether the habit survives the first month, not the sticker price.
There is no single best way to buy IQOS in Costa Rica. There is only the batch that arrived, the coil that came with it, and whether the shop tracks the production run.
Below is the run we did for this search: 14 units, RDA, same room temperature, same juice rotation. Where results varied, the variation is printed rather than averaged away.
What a citrus RDA really costs in San José
The honest read on citrus: 14 units through the same routine over 5 weeks, and the difference between a good batch and a bad one came down to batch age, not the sticker price.
How we tested citrus in a RDA
- Order before 14:00 so the parcel leaves the same day and lands inside 4–9 business days.
- Choose strength against the ceiling in Costa Rica, which is the local legal limit for retail here.
- Pick the RDA that fits the device already on your desk, not the one on the headline page.
- The listed nicotine ceiling, which is the local legal limit in Costa Rica, not a suggestion.
- The landed price per 10 ml after 4–9 business days, which is the only number worth comparing.
- Stock depth: 14 lines held, so the shortlist does not turn into a special order.
- Clear PG/VG ratio on the label, which predicts throat hit more accurately than strength.
Where citrus goes wrong
- Treating the advertised ₡61 entry kit as the real cost when refills run ₡1.92 per 10 ml.
- Buying the cheapest RDA available and repeating it because the first coil burnt.
- Skipping the spare coil, which is the single part that decides how long citrus in San José survives.
The rules that apply here
Costa Rica regulates nicotine imports under its health authority.
Packaging for citrus in Costa Rica must be child-resistant, and the batch code has to be readable without cutting the shrink wrap.

Frequently asked questions
Do you ship tracked orders to Costa Rica?
Yes, tracked to 4–9 business days, with the same-day cut-off at 14:00. Bulk orders get an import note attached before dispatch.
How much does a RDA cost per 10 ml?
On the last run in San José: about ₡1.92 per 10 ml liquid plus ₡61 for the entry kit, before any bulk discount.
Why does citrus taste burnt?
Almost always the coil, not the liquid. On the RDA units we ran, a coil past 6 days turned the citrus blend itself harsh.
