Caramel mesh tank IQOS in San José: the cheap shortlist
Caramel in San José: 6 units tested over 6 weeks, mesh tank formats, priced per 10 ml for Costa Rica.
Stock, batch codes and the dispatch window
Caramel in a mesh tank is not the same product you see in a catalogue photo, and the price per 10 ml is where the gap shows. In San José the liquid, the coil and the power setting all have to agree before the flavour actually lands.
Caramel mesh tank reviews tend to be written after one tank. We run 6 units and 6 days per unit, because that is where the honest answer changes.
Below is the run we did for this search: 6 units, mesh tank, same room temperature, same juice rotation. Where results varied, the variation is printed rather than averaged away.
What a caramel mesh tank really costs in San José
Caramel in a mesh tank is not the same product you see in a catalogue photo, and the price per 10 ml is where the gap shows. In San José the liquid, the coil and the power setting all have to agree before the flavour actually lands.
How we tested caramel in a mesh tank
- Settle the draw first: mouth-to-lung or direct-to-lung, because it decides the coil and the liquid.
- Pick the mesh tank that fits the device already on your desk, not the one on the headline page.
- Order before 14:00 so the parcel leaves the same day and lands inside 4–9 business days.
- Returns window and who pays return postage when a mesh tank arrives sealed but wrong.
- Clear PG/VG ratio on the label, which predicts throat hit more accurately than strength.
- Coil type inside the mesh tank, because mesh and wire age at different rates.
- Spare parts availability for mesh tank in Costa Rica, since tanks and pods go first.
Where caramel goes wrong
- Ordering in bulk without checking whether couriers in Costa Rica accept nicotine freight.
- Matching strength to the device instead of the draw, which is why caramel tastes flat after two days.
- Ignoring the batch date on a mesh tank and discovering the listed price was for old stock.

Frequently asked questions
What nicotine strength should caramel start at?
Start at whatever Costa Rica allows on the label. If you already smoke, drop one step; if not, half of it for a mesh tank.
Is caramel legal to sell in Costa Rica?
Costa Rica regulates nicotine imports under its health authority.
Why does caramel taste burnt?
Almost always the coil, not the liquid. On the mesh tank units we ran, a coil past 4 days turned the caramel blend itself harsh.
