Dessert squonk mod IQOS in San José: the cheap shortlist
Dessert in San José: 19 units tested over 7 weeks, squonk mod formats, priced per 10 ml for Costa Rica.
Coil life, liquid cost and the dessert habit
There is no single best way to buy IQOS in Costa Rica. There is only the batch that arrived, the coil that came with it, and whether the shop tracks the production run.
Dessert in a squonk mod is not the same product you see in a catalogue photo, and the price per 10 ml is where the gap shows. In San José the liquid, the coil and the power setting all have to agree before the flavour actually lands.
The short version: dessert in San José works if the squonk mod, the coil and the strength are chosen as one system. Everything below is what we measured while doing exactly that.
What a dessert squonk mod really costs in San José
Dessert in San José reaches the shelf in squonk mod formats, and the cheapest ones are rarely the ones that stay in stock. Availability, not taste, is what breaks an order.
How we tested dessert in a squonk mod
- Order before 14:00 so the parcel leaves the same day and lands inside 4–9 business days.
- Choose strength against the ceiling in Costa Rica, which is the local legal limit for retail here.
- Settle the draw first: mouth-to-lung or direct-to-lung, because it decides the coil and the liquid.
- Batch code and production date, so a dessert bottle turned in 7 weeks ago is not sold as new.
- Clear PG/VG ratio on the label, which predicts throat hit more accurately than strength.
- Returns window and who pays return postage when a squonk mod arrives sealed but wrong.
- Spare parts availability for squonk mod in Costa Rica, since tanks and pods go first.
Where dessert goes wrong
- Buying the cheapest squonk mod available and repeating it because the first coil burnt.
- Skipping the spare coil, which is the single part that decides how long dessert in San José survives.
- Ignoring the batch date on a squonk mod and discovering the listed price was for old stock.
The rules that apply here
Packaging for dessert in Costa Rica must be child-resistant, and the batch code has to be readable without cutting the shrink wrap.

Frequently asked questions
What nicotine strength should dessert start at?
Start at whatever Costa Rica allows on the label. If you already smoke, drop one step; if not, half of it for a squonk mod.
Is dessert legal to sell in Costa Rica?
Costa Rica regulates nicotine imports under its health authority.
Why does dessert taste burnt?
Almost always the coil, not the liquid. On the squonk mod units we ran, a coil past 6 days turned the dessert blend itself harsh.
