Apple prefilled pod IQOS in San José: the budget shortlist
Apple in San José: 16 units tested over 7 weeks, prefilled pod formats, priced per 10 ml for Costa Rica.
Delivery, returns and what 4–9 business days really means
The honest read on apple: 16 units through the same routine over 7 weeks, and the difference between a good batch and a bad one came down to batch age, not the sticker price.
We run apple the same way in San José: same prefilled pod, same 7 days, same coil resistance. The only variable was the coil, and that turned out to be the thing buyers get wrong.
The short version: apple in San José works if the prefilled pod, the coil and the strength are chosen as one system. Everything below is what we measured while doing exactly that.
What a apple prefilled pod really costs in San José
There is no single best way to buy IQOS in Costa Rica. There is only the batch that arrived, the coil that came with it, and whether the shop tracks the production run.
How we tested apple in a prefilled pod
- Pick the prefilled pod that fits the device already on your desk, not the one on the headline page.
- Settle the draw first: mouth-to-lung or direct-to-lung, because it decides the coil and the liquid.
- Choose strength against the ceiling in Costa Rica, which is the local legal limit for retail here.
- Returns window and who pays return postage when a prefilled pod arrives sealed but wrong.
- Clear PG/VG ratio on the label, which predicts throat hit more accurately than strength.
- Coil type inside the prefilled pod, because mesh and wire age at different rates.
- Child-resistant cap and tamper band on every apple bottle shipped into Costa Rica.
Where apple goes wrong
- Chasing a discount on a prefilled pod that then needs an adapter nobody in Costa Rica stocks.
- Assuming varies is uniform across brands, because two suppliers can label the same number differently.
- Matching strength to the device instead of the draw, which is why apple tastes flat after two days.

Wholesale lines to Costa Rica need import documents the retail shop does not; ask for them in writing before a bulk order.
