Tropical pen device IQOS in San José: the wholesale shortlist
Tropical in San José: 6 units tested over 7 weeks, pen device formats, priced per 10 ml for Costa Rica.
Coil life, liquid cost and the tropical habit
Tropical pen device reviews tend to be written after one tank. We run 6 units and 7 days per unit, because that is where the honest answer changes.
If you are looking at tropical in Costa Rica, the first question is not strength. It is whether the pen device you are quoting actually fits the device on your desk.
Below is the run we did for this search: 6 units, pen device, same room temperature, same juice rotation. Where results varied, the variation is printed rather than averaged away.
What a tropical pen device really costs in San José
Tropical in a pen device is not the same product you see in a catalogue photo, and the price per 10 ml is where the gap shows. In San José the liquid, the coil and the power setting all have to agree before the flavour actually lands.
How we tested tropical in a pen device
- Order before 14:00 so the parcel leaves the same day and lands inside 4–9 business days.
- Choose strength against the ceiling in Costa Rica, which is the local legal limit for retail here.
- Pick the pen device that fits the device already on your desk, not the one on the headline page.
- A dated dispatch promise: before 14:00 same day, tracked, so no order is held to a warehouse cut-off.
- The landed price per 10 ml after 4–9 business days, which is the only number worth comparing.
- Coil type inside the pen device, because mesh and wire age at different rates.
- Stock depth: 6 lines held, so the shortlist does not turn into a special order.
Where tropical goes wrong
- Treating the advertised ₡58 entry kit as the real cost when refills run ₡2.21 per 10 ml.
- Matching strength to the device instead of the draw, which is why tropical tastes flat after two days.
- Skipping the spare coil, which is the single part that decides how long tropical in San José survives.
