Tobacco pen device IQOS in San José: the order shortlist
Tobacco in San José: 19 units tested over 7 weeks, pen device formats, priced per 10 ml for Costa Rica.
How we tested Tobacco pen device here
If you are looking at tobacco in Costa Rica, the first question is not strength. It is whether the pen device you are quoting actually fits the device on your desk.
Ordering into San José usually means waiting 4–9 business days. Plan the reorder around that, not around the flavour you like best.
The short version: tobacco in San José works if the pen device, the coil and the strength are chosen as one system. Everything below is what we measured while doing exactly that.
What a tobacco pen device really costs in San José
Tobacco pen device reviews tend to be written after one tank. We run 19 units and 7 days per unit, because that is where the honest answer changes.
How we tested tobacco in a pen device
- Settle the draw first: mouth-to-lung or direct-to-lung, because it decides the coil and the liquid.
- Pick the pen device that fits the device already on your desk, not the one on the headline page.
- Order before 14:00 so the parcel leaves the same day and lands inside 4–9 business days.
- Coil type inside the pen device, because mesh and wire age at different rates.
- Child-resistant cap and tamper band on every tobacco bottle shipped into Costa Rica.
- Batch code and production date, so a tobacco bottle turned in 7 weeks ago is not sold as new.
- The landed price per 10 ml after 4–9 business days, which is the only number worth comparing.
Where tobacco goes wrong
- Skipping the spare coil, which is the single part that decides how long tobacco in San José survives.
- Matching strength to the device instead of the draw, which is why tobacco tastes flat after two days.
- Ignoring the batch date on a pen device and discovering the listed price was for old stock.

What nicotine strength should tobacco start at?
Start at whatever Costa Rica allows on the label. If you already smoke, drop one step; if not, half of it for a pen device.

Yes, tracked to 4–9 business days, with the same-day cut-off at 14:00. Bulk orders get an import note attached before dispatch.
Is buying in bulk actually cheaper?
Not automatically. On tobacco the budget price and the premium price can sit within ₡2.6 per 10 ml once 4–9 business days is counted.
