Frozen RDA IQOS in San José: the budget shortlist
Frozen in San José: 14 units tested over 4 weeks, RDA formats, priced per 10 ml for Costa Rica.
How we tested Frozen RDA here
Frozen in a RDA is not the same product you see in a catalogue photo, and the price per 10 ml is where the gap shows. In San José the liquid, the coil and the power setting all have to agree before the flavour actually lands.
The honest read on frozen: 14 units through the same routine over 4 weeks, and the difference between a good batch and a bad one came down to batch age, not the sticker price.
Below is the run we did for this search: 14 units, RDA, same room temperature, same juice rotation. Where results varied, the variation is printed rather than averaged away.
What a frozen RDA really costs in San José
If you are looking at frozen in Costa Rica, the first question is not strength. It is whether the RDA you are quoting actually fits the device on your desk.
How we tested frozen in a RDA
- Settle the draw first: mouth-to-lung or direct-to-lung, because it decides the coil and the liquid.
- Order before 14:00 so the parcel leaves the same day and lands inside 4–9 business days.
- Pick the RDA that fits the device already on your desk, not the one on the headline page.
- Clear PG/VG ratio on the label, which predicts throat hit more accurately than strength.
- Stock depth: 14 lines held, so the shortlist does not turn into a special order.
- A dated dispatch promise: before 14:00 same day, tracked, so no order is held to a warehouse cut-off.
- The listed nicotine ceiling, which is the local legal limit in Costa Rica, not a suggestion.
Where frozen goes wrong
- Matching strength to the device instead of the draw, which is why frozen tastes flat after two days.
- Treating the advertised ₡38 entry kit as the real cost when refills run ₡3.24 per 10 ml.
- Mixing frozen with a coil rated for a different wattage, which dulls the flavour and drains liquid faster.
The rules that apply here
Costa Rica regulates nicotine imports under its health authority. Shipping of nicotine to Costa Rica runs through tracked freight only, which is why the quoted window is stated per order.
Retail sales in Costa Rica sit under the same nicotine the label declares, which is the local legal limit. Anything above it is not sold through this channel.

How long does frozen in a RDA last?
In San José we measured 4 to 14 days per unit depending on the coil. The bottle outlasts the coil, so the coil is what you replace.
How much does a RDA cost per 10 ml?
On the last run in San José: about ₡3.24 per 10 ml liquid plus ₡38 for the entry kit, before any bulk discount.
Is buying in bulk actually cheaper?
Not automatically. On frozen the budget price and the premium price can sit within ₡3.24 per 10 ml once 4–9 business days is counted.
