Tobacco 10 ml bottle IQOS in San José: the cheap shortlist
Tobacco in San José: 7 units tested over 2 weeks, 10 ml bottle formats, priced per 10 ml for Costa Rica.
How to tell a good 10 ml bottle from a repack
Tobacco in a 10 ml bottle is not the same product you see in a catalogue photo, and the price per 10 ml is where the gap shows. In San José the liquid, the coil and the power setting all have to agree before the flavour actually lands.
We run tobacco the same way in San José: same 10 ml bottle, same 2 days, same coil resistance. The only variable was the coil, and that turned out to be the thing buyers get wrong.
Below is the run we did for this search: 7 units, 10 ml bottle, same room temperature, same juice rotation. Where results varied, the variation is printed rather than averaged away.
What a tobacco 10 ml bottle really costs in San José
Tobacco prices move with import duty more than with brand. In San José that means the entry option and the premium option can close to within ₡1.64 per 10 ml.
How we tested tobacco in a 10 ml bottle
- Order before 14:00 so the parcel leaves the same day and lands inside 4–9 business days.
- Settle the draw first: mouth-to-lung or direct-to-lung, because it decides the coil and the liquid.
- Choose strength against the ceiling in Costa Rica, which is the local legal limit for retail here.
- Coil type inside the 10 ml bottle, because mesh and wire age at different rates.
- Stock depth: 7 lines held, so the shortlist does not turn into a special order.
- The landed price per 10 ml after 4–9 business days, which is the only number worth comparing.
- Returns window and who pays return postage when a 10 ml bottle arrives sealed but wrong.
Where tobacco goes wrong
- Buying the cheapest 10 ml bottle available and repeating it because the first coil burnt.
- Matching strength to the device instead of the draw, which is why tobacco tastes flat after two days.
- Ignoring the batch date on a 10 ml bottle and discovering the listed price was for old stock.
The rules that apply here
Retail sales in Costa Rica sit under the same nicotine the label declares, which is the local legal limit. Anything above it is not sold through this channel.
Packaging for tobacco in Costa Rica must be child-resistant, and the batch code has to be readable without cutting the shrink wrap.
