Sweet prefilled pod IQOS in San José: the deals shortlist
Sweet in San José: 10 units tested over 7 weeks, prefilled pod formats, priced per 10 ml for Costa Rica.
Choosing a prefilled pod for sweet
A sweet prefilled pod from the discounted options in Costa Rica costs about ₡2.36 per 10 ml once delivery is counted. That number decides whether the habit survives the first month, not the sticker price.
Sweet prices move with import duty more than with brand. In San José that means the entry option and the premium option can close to within ₡2.36 per 10 ml.
If you only read one line: the prefilled pod you buy decides how long sweet tastes right, and the coil inside it decides how long that is.

How we tested sweet in a prefilled pod
- Settle the draw first: mouth-to-lung or direct-to-lung, because it decides the coil and the liquid.
- Choose strength against the ceiling in Costa Rica, which is the local legal limit for retail here.
- Order before 14:00 so the parcel leaves the same day and lands inside 4–9 business days.
- Clear PG/VG ratio on the label, which predicts throat hit more accurately than strength.
- Returns window and who pays return postage when a prefilled pod arrives sealed but wrong.
- Stock depth: 10 lines held, so the shortlist does not turn into a special order.
- Coil type inside the prefilled pod, because mesh and wire age at different rates.
Where sweet goes wrong
- Ignoring the batch date on a prefilled pod and discovering the listed price was for old stock.
- Buying the cheapest prefilled pod available and repeating it because the first coil burnt.
- Chasing a discount on a prefilled pod that then needs an adapter nobody in Costa Rica stocks.
The rules that apply here
