Lemon cartomizer IQOS in San José: the deals shortlist
Lemon in San José: 16 units tested over 3 weeks, cartomizer formats, priced per 10 ml for Costa Rica.
Coil life, liquid cost and the lemon habit
Lemon in a cartomizer is not the same product you see in a catalogue photo, and the price per 10 ml is where the gap shows. In San José the liquid, the coil and the power setting all have to agree before the flavour actually lands.
Lemon in San José reaches the shelf in cartomizer formats, and the discounted ones are rarely the ones that stay in stock. Availability, not taste, is what breaks an order.
Below is the run we did for this search: 16 units, cartomizer, same room temperature, same juice rotation. Where results varied, the variation is printed rather than averaged away.
What a lemon cartomizer really costs in San José
Lemon sounds like one product. It is not: a cartomizer running varies will taste nothing like the same blend on a different device, which is why we test before we recommend.
How we tested lemon in a cartomizer
- Choose strength against the ceiling in Costa Rica, which is the local legal limit for retail here.
- Settle the draw first: mouth-to-lung or direct-to-lung, because it decides the coil and the liquid.
- Pick the cartomizer that fits the device already on your desk, not the one on the headline page.
- The landed price per 10 ml after 4–9 business days, which is the only number worth comparing.
- Clear PG/VG ratio on the label, which predicts throat hit more accurately than strength.
- Stock depth: 16 lines held, so the shortlist does not turn into a special order.
- Spare parts availability for cartomizer in Costa Rica, since tanks and pods go first.
Where lemon goes wrong
- Ordering in bulk without checking whether couriers in Costa Rica accept nicotine freight.
- Matching strength to the device instead of the draw, which is why lemon tastes flat after two days.
- Buying the cheapest cartomizer available and repeating it because the first coil burnt.
The rules that apply here
Costa Rica regulates nicotine imports under its health authority.
Packaging for lemon in Costa Rica must be child-resistant, and the batch code has to be readable without cutting the shrink wrap.

Frequently asked questions
Is buying in bulk actually cheaper?
Not automatically. On lemon the budget price and the premium price can sit within ₡1.88 per 10 ml once 4–9 business days is counted.
How much does a cartomizer cost per 10 ml?
On the last run in San José: about ₡1.88 per 10 ml liquid plus ₡45 for the entry kit, before any bulk discount.
Why does lemon taste burnt?
Almost always the coil, not the liquid. On the cartomizer units we ran, a coil past 7 days turned the lemon blend itself harsh.
