Spiced vape pen IQOS in San José: the order shortlist
Spiced in San José: 14 units tested over 5 weeks, vape pen formats, priced per 10 ml for Costa Rica.
Choosing a vape pen for spiced
There is no single best way to buy IQOS in Costa Rica. There is only the batch that arrived, the coil that came with it, and whether the shop tracks the production run.
We run spiced the same way in San José: same vape pen, same 5 days, same coil resistance. The only variable was the coil, and that turned out to be the thing buyers get wrong.
If you only read one line: the vape pen you buy decides how long spiced tastes right, and the coil inside it decides how long that is.
What a spiced vape pen really costs in San José
Spiced in San José reaches the shelf in vape pen formats, and the pre-order ones are rarely the ones that stay in stock. Availability, not taste, is what breaks an order.
How we tested spiced in a vape pen
- Pick the vape pen that fits the device already on your desk, not the one on the headline page.
- Settle the draw first: mouth-to-lung or direct-to-lung, because it decides the coil and the liquid.
- Choose strength against the ceiling in Costa Rica, which is the local legal limit for retail here.
- Clear PG/VG ratio on the label, which predicts throat hit more accurately than strength.
- Child-resistant cap and tamper band on every spiced bottle shipped into Costa Rica.
- Stock depth: 14 lines held, so the shortlist does not turn into a special order.
- Spare parts availability for vape pen in Costa Rica, since tanks and pods go first.
Where spiced goes wrong
- Buying the cheapest vape pen available and repeating it because the first coil burnt.
- Treating the advertised ₡50 entry kit as the real cost when refills run ₡1.71 per 10 ml.
- Chasing a discount on a vape pen that then needs an adapter nobody in Costa Rica stocks.
The rules that apply here
Retail sales in Costa Rica sit under the same nicotine the label declares, which is the local legal limit. Anything above it is not sold through this channel.
Costa Rica regulates nicotine imports under its health authority. Shipping of nicotine to Costa Rica runs through tracked freight only, which is why the quoted window is stated per order.

| Nicotine ceiling | varies | Legal retail limit in Costa Rica |

| Entry kit | ₡50 | What a first order really pays |
| Refill cost | ₡1.71 / 10 ml | The figure that decides the habit |
