Ordering IQOS to San José: the practical version
There is no single best way to buy IQOS in Costa Rica. There is only the batch that arrived, the coil that came with it, and whether the shop tracks the production run.

The short version: spiced in San José works if the vape pen, the coil and the strength are chosen as one system. Everything below is what we measured while doing exactly that.
What a spiced vape pen really costs in San José
Spiced in a vape pen is not the same product you see in a catalogue photo, and the price per 10 ml is where the gap shows. In San José the liquid, the coil and the power setting all have to agree before the flavour actually lands.
How we tested spiced in a vape pen
- Settle the draw first: mouth-to-lung or direct-to-lung, because it decides the coil and the liquid.
- Pick the vape pen that fits the device already on your desk, not the one on the headline page.
- Order before 14:00 so the parcel leaves the same day and lands inside 4–9 business days.
- Batch code and production date, so a spiced bottle turned in 4 weeks ago is not sold as new.
- A dated dispatch promise: before 14:00 same day, tracked, so no order is held to a warehouse cut-off.
- Child-resistant cap and tamper band on every spiced bottle shipped into Costa Rica.
- The landed price per 10 ml after 4–9 business days, which is the only number worth comparing.
Where spiced goes wrong
- Skipping the spare coil, which is the single part that decides how long spiced in San José survives.
- Treating the advertised ₡59 entry kit as the real cost when refills run ₡2.33 per 10 ml.
- Ordering in bulk without checking whether couriers in Costa Rica accept nicotine freight.
The rules that apply here

Frequently asked questions
Why does spiced taste burnt?
Almost always the coil, not the liquid. On the vape pen units we ran, a coil past 7 days turned the spiced blend itself harsh.
Is spiced legal to sell in Costa Rica?
Costa Rica regulates nicotine imports under its health authority.
How long does spiced in a vape pen last?
In San José we measured 4 to 16 days per unit depending on the coil. The bottle outlasts the coil, so the coil is what you replace.
