Spiced vape pen IQOS in San José: the cheap shortlist
Spiced in San José: 15 units tested over 9 weeks, vape pen formats, priced per 10 ml for Costa Rica.
How we tested Spiced vape pen here
We run spiced the same way in San José: same vape pen, same 9 days, same coil resistance. The only variable was the coil, and that turned out to be the thing buyers get wrong.
Spiced in San José reaches the shelf in vape pen formats, and the cheapest ones are rarely the ones that stay in stock. Availability, not taste, is what breaks an order.
If you only read one line: the vape pen you buy decides how long spiced tastes right, and the coil inside it decides how long that is.
What a spiced vape pen really costs in San José
If you are looking at spiced in Costa Rica, the first question is not strength. It is whether the vape pen you are quoting actually fits the device on your desk.
How we tested spiced in a vape pen
- Order before 14:00 so the parcel leaves the same day and lands inside 4–9 business days.
- Settle the draw first: mouth-to-lung or direct-to-lung, because it decides the coil and the liquid.
- Choose strength against the ceiling in Costa Rica, which is the local legal limit for retail here.
- A dated dispatch promise: before 14:00 same day, tracked, so no order is held to a warehouse cut-off.
- Batch code and production date, so a spiced bottle turned in 9 weeks ago is not sold as new.
- Returns window and who pays return postage when a vape pen arrives sealed but wrong.
- Clear PG/VG ratio on the label, which predicts throat hit more accurately than strength.
Where spiced goes wrong
- Chasing a discount on a vape pen that then needs an adapter nobody in Costa Rica stocks.
- Mixing spiced with a coil rated for a different wattage, which dulls the flavour and drains liquid faster.
- Ignoring the batch date on a vape pen and discovering the listed price was for old stock.

Frequently asked questions
Why does spiced taste burnt?
Almost always the coil, not the liquid. On the vape pen units we ran, a coil past 5 days turned the spiced blend itself harsh.
What nicotine strength should spiced start at?
Start at whatever Costa Rica allows on the label. If you already smoke, drop one step; if not, half of it for a vape pen.
How much does a vape pen cost per 10 ml?
On the last run in San José: about ₡2.21 per 10 ml liquid plus ₡46 for the entry kit, before any bulk discount.
