Spiced pen device IQOS in San José: the price shortlist
Spiced in San José: 22 units tested over 8 weeks, pen device formats, priced per 10 ml for Costa Rica.
How to tell a good pen device from a repack
The honest read on spiced: 22 units through the same routine over 8 weeks, and the difference between a good batch and a bad one came down to batch age, not the sticker price.
Ordering into San José usually means waiting 4–9 business days. Plan the reorder around that, not around the flavour you like best.
If you only read one line: the pen device you buy decides how long spiced tastes right, and the coil inside it decides how long that is.
What a spiced pen device really costs in San José
Spiced prices move with import duty more than with brand. In San José that means the entry option and the premium option can close to within ₡2.56 per 10 ml.
How we tested spiced in a pen device
- Order before 14:00 so the parcel leaves the same day and lands inside 4–9 business days.
- Choose strength against the ceiling in Costa Rica, which is the local legal limit for retail here.
- Settle the draw first: mouth-to-lung or direct-to-lung, because it decides the coil and the liquid.
- Clear PG/VG ratio on the label, which predicts throat hit more accurately than strength.
- Returns window and who pays return postage when a pen device arrives sealed but wrong.
- Stock depth: 22 lines held, so the shortlist does not turn into a special order.
- The landed price per 10 ml after 4–9 business days, which is the only number worth comparing.
Where spiced goes wrong
- Mixing spiced with a coil rated for a different wattage, which dulls the flavour and drains liquid faster.
- Treating the advertised ₡62 entry kit as the real cost when refills run ₡2.56 per 10 ml.
- Ignoring the batch date on a pen device and discovering the listed price was for old stock.
