Sour prefilled pod IQOS in San José: the deals shortlist
Sour in San José: 18 units tested over 3 weeks, prefilled pod formats, priced per 10 ml for Costa Rica.
How we tested Sour prefilled pod here
The honest read on sour: 18 units through the same routine over 3 weeks, and the difference between a good batch and a bad one came down to batch age, not the sticker price.
We run sour the same way in San José: same prefilled pod, same 3 days, same coil resistance. The only variable was the coil, and that turned out to be the thing buyers get wrong.
The short version: sour in San José works if the prefilled pod, the coil and the strength are chosen as one system. Everything below is what we measured while doing exactly that.
What a sour prefilled pod really costs in San José
Sour in San José reaches the shelf in prefilled pod formats, and the discounted ones are rarely the ones that stay in stock. Availability, not taste, is what breaks an order.
How we tested sour in a prefilled pod
- Order before 14:00 so the parcel leaves the same day and lands inside 4–9 business days.
- Pick the prefilled pod that fits the device already on your desk, not the one on the headline page.
- Settle the draw first: mouth-to-lung or direct-to-lung, because it decides the coil and the liquid.
- Batch code and production date, so a sour bottle turned in 3 weeks ago is not sold as new.
- Stock depth: 18 lines held, so the shortlist does not turn into a special order.
- The landed price per 10 ml after 4–9 business days, which is the only number worth comparing.
- Clear PG/VG ratio on the label, which predicts throat hit more accurately than strength.
Where sour goes wrong
- Ordering in bulk without checking whether couriers in Costa Rica accept nicotine freight.
- Buying the cheapest prefilled pod available and repeating it because the first coil burnt.
- Ignoring the batch date on a prefilled pod and discovering the listed price was for old stock.
The rules that apply here
Costa Rica regulates nicotine imports under its health authority.
Packaging for sour in Costa Rica must be child-resistant, and the batch code has to be readable without cutting the shrink wrap.

Frequently asked questions
Why does sour taste burnt?
Almost always the coil, not the liquid. On the prefilled pod units we ran, a coil past 5 days turned the sour blend itself harsh.
How long does sour in a prefilled pod last?
In San José we measured 3 to 18 days per unit depending on the coil. The bottle outlasts the coil, so the coil is what you replace.
Do you ship tracked orders to Costa Rica?
Yes, tracked to 4–9 business days, with the same-day cut-off at 14:00. Bulk orders get an import note attached before dispatch.
