Choosing a pod kit for sour

Sour pod kit reviews tend to be written after one tank. We run 20 units and 9 days per unit, because that is where the honest answer changes.

There is no single best way to buy IQOS in Costa Rica. There is only the batch that arrived, the coil that came with it, and whether the shop tracks the production run.

The short version: sour in San José works if the pod kit, the coil and the strength are chosen as one system. Everything below is what we measured while doing exactly that.

What a sour pod kit really costs in San José

Ordering into San José usually means waiting 4–9 business days. Plan the reorder around that, not around the flavour you like best.

How we tested sour in a pod kit

1. Choose strength against the ceiling in Costa Rica, which is the local legal limit for retail here.
2. Pick the pod kit that fits the device already on your desk, not the one on the headline page.
3. Order before 14:00 so the parcel leaves the same day and lands inside 4–9 business days.

• Stock depth: 20 lines held, so the shortlist does not turn into a special order.
• The listed nicotine ceiling, which is the local legal limit in Costa Rica, not a suggestion.
• The landed price per 10 ml after 4–9 business days, which is the only number worth comparing.
• Spare parts availability for pod kit in Costa Rica, since tanks and pods go first.

Where sour goes wrong

• Mixing sour with a coil rated for a different wattage, which dulls the flavour and drains liquid faster.
• Skipping the spare coil, which is the single part that decides how long sour in San José survives.
• Ordering in bulk without checking whether couriers in Costa Rica accept nicotine freight.

The rules that apply here

Packaging for sour in Costa Rica must be child-resistant, and the batch code has to be readable without cutting the shrink wrap.
