Salted starter kit IQOS in San José: the guide shortlist
Salted in San José: 11 units tested over 8 weeks, starter kit formats, priced per 10 ml for Costa Rica.
What the label on Salted is allowed to say
A salted starter kit from the starter options in Costa Rica costs about ₡2.95 per 10 ml once delivery is counted. That number decides whether the habit survives the first month, not the sticker price.
The honest read on salted: 11 units through the same routine over 8 weeks, and the difference between a good batch and a bad one came down to batch age, not the sticker price.
If you only read one line: the starter kit you buy decides how long salted tastes right, and the coil inside it decides how long that is.
What a salted starter kit really costs in San José
We run salted the same way in San José: same starter kit, same 8 days, same coil resistance. The only variable was the coil, and that turned out to be the thing buyers get wrong.
How we tested salted in a starter kit
- Settle the draw first: mouth-to-lung or direct-to-lung, because it decides the coil and the liquid.
- Order before 14:00 so the parcel leaves the same day and lands inside 4–9 business days.
- Pick the starter kit that fits the device already on your desk, not the one on the headline page.
- Coil type inside the starter kit, because mesh and wire age at different rates.
- Stock depth: 11 lines held, so the shortlist does not turn into a special order.
- Child-resistant cap and tamper band on every salted bottle shipped into Costa Rica.
- The listed nicotine ceiling, which is the local legal limit in Costa Rica, not a suggestion.
Where salted goes wrong
- Ignoring the batch date on a starter kit and discovering the listed price was for old stock.
- Mixing salted with a coil rated for a different wattage, which dulls the flavour and drains liquid faster.
- Chasing a discount on a starter kit that then needs an adapter nobody in Costa Rica stocks.
The rules that apply here
