Tobacco mesh tank IQOS in San José: the wholesale shortlist
Tobacco in San José: 6 units tested over 8 weeks, mesh tank formats, priced per 10 ml for Costa Rica.
What the label on Tobacco is allowed to say
Tobacco prices move with import duty more than with brand. In San José that means the entry option and the premium option can close to within ₡2.35 per 10 ml.
Tobacco sounds like one product. It is not: a mesh tank running varies will taste nothing like the same blend on a different device, which is why we test before we recommend.
If you only read one line: the mesh tank you buy decides how long tobacco tastes right, and the coil inside it decides how long that is.
What a tobacco mesh tank really costs in San José
Ordering into San José usually means waiting 4–9 business days. Plan the reorder around that, not around the flavour you like best.
How we tested tobacco in a mesh tank
- Choose strength against the ceiling in Costa Rica, which is the local legal limit for retail here.
- Pick the mesh tank that fits the device already on your desk, not the one on the headline page.
- Order before 14:00 so the parcel leaves the same day and lands inside 4–9 business days.
- Coil type inside the mesh tank, because mesh and wire age at different rates.
- Clear PG/VG ratio on the label, which predicts throat hit more accurately than strength.
- The listed nicotine ceiling, which is the local legal limit in Costa Rica, not a suggestion.
- Spare parts availability for mesh tank in Costa Rica, since tanks and pods go first.
Where tobacco goes wrong
- Ignoring the batch date on a mesh tank and discovering the listed price was for old stock.
- Treating the advertised ₡65 entry kit as the real cost when refills run ₡2.35 per 10 ml.
- Mixing tobacco with a coil rated for a different wattage, which dulls the flavour and drains liquid faster.
