Salted 30 ml shortfill IQOS in San José: the cheap shortlist
Salted in San José: 16 units tested over 9 weeks, 30 ml shortfill formats, priced per 10 ml for Costa Rica.
Choosing a 30 ml shortfill for salted
There is no single best way to buy IQOS in Costa Rica. There is only the batch that arrived, the coil that came with it, and whether the shop tracks the production run.
Salted prices move with import duty more than with brand. In San José that means the entry option and the premium option can close to within ₡1.97 per 10 ml.
The short version: salted in San José works if the 30 ml shortfill, the coil and the strength are chosen as one system. Everything below is what we measured while doing exactly that.
What a salted 30 ml shortfill really costs in San José
Salted sounds like one product. It is not: a 30 ml shortfill running varies will taste nothing like the same blend on a different device, which is why we test before we recommend.
How we tested salted in a 30 ml shortfill
- Order before 14:00 so the parcel leaves the same day and lands inside 4–9 business days.
- Choose strength against the ceiling in Costa Rica, which is the local legal limit for retail here.
- Pick the 30 ml shortfill that fits the device already on your desk, not the one on the headline page.
- Child-resistant cap and tamper band on every salted bottle shipped into Costa Rica.
- Returns window and who pays return postage when a 30 ml shortfill arrives sealed but wrong.
- The landed price per 10 ml after 4–9 business days, which is the only number worth comparing.
- Spare parts availability for 30 ml shortfill in Costa Rica, since tanks and pods go first.
Where salted goes wrong
- Ordering in bulk without checking whether couriers in Costa Rica accept nicotine freight.
- Treating the advertised ₡59 entry kit as the real cost when refills run ₡1.97 per 10 ml.
- Skipping the spare coil, which is the single part that decides how long salted in San José survives.

Frequently asked questions
Why does salted taste burnt?
Almost always the coil, not the liquid. On the 30 ml shortfill units we ran, a coil past 4 days turned the salted blend itself harsh.
How long does salted in a 30 ml shortfill last?
In San José we measured 9 to 16 days per unit depending on the coil. The bottle outlasts the coil, so the coil is what you replace.
Do you ship tracked orders to Costa Rica?
Yes, tracked to 4–9 business days, with the same-day cut-off at 14:00. Bulk orders get an import note attached before dispatch.
