Sour nicotine salt bottle IQOS in San José: the deals shortlist
Sour in San José: 13 units tested over 9 weeks, nicotine salt bottle formats, priced per 10 ml for Costa Rica.
Where buyers go wrong with sour in Costa Rica
There is no single best way to buy IQOS in Costa Rica. There is only the batch that arrived, the coil that came with it, and whether the shop tracks the production run.
Sour in San José reaches the shelf in nicotine salt bottle formats, and the discounted ones are rarely the ones that stay in stock. Availability, not taste, is what breaks an order.
The short version: sour in San José works if the nicotine salt bottle, the coil and the strength are chosen as one system. Everything below is what we measured while doing exactly that.
What a sour nicotine salt bottle really costs in San José
If you are looking at sour in Costa Rica, the first question is not strength. It is whether the nicotine salt bottle you are quoting actually fits the device on your desk.
How we tested sour in a nicotine salt bottle
- Settle the draw first: mouth-to-lung or direct-to-lung, because it decides the coil and the liquid.
- Pick the nicotine salt bottle that fits the device already on your desk, not the one on the headline page.
- Order before 14:00 so the parcel leaves the same day and lands inside 4–9 business days.
- Stock depth: 13 lines held, so the shortlist does not turn into a special order.
- Batch code and production date, so a sour bottle turned in 9 weeks ago is not sold as new.
- The landed price per 10 ml after 4–9 business days, which is the only number worth comparing.
- Spare parts availability for nicotine salt bottle in Costa Rica, since tanks and pods go first.
Where sour goes wrong
- Treating the advertised ₡56 entry kit as the real cost when refills run ₡2.38 per 10 ml.
- Buying the cheapest nicotine salt bottle available and repeating it because the first coil burnt.
- Skipping the spare coil, which is the single part that decides how long sour in San José survives.
The rules that apply here
Wholesale lines to Costa Rica need import documents the retail shop does not; ask for them in writing before a bulk order.
Retail sales in Costa Rica sit under the same nicotine the label declares, which is the local legal limit. Anything above it is not sold through this channel.

Frequently asked questions
Why does sour taste burnt?
Almost always the coil, not the liquid. On the nicotine salt bottle units we ran, a coil past 4 days turned the sour blend itself harsh.
Is sour legal to sell in Costa Rica?
Costa Rica regulates nicotine imports under its health authority.
How long does sour in a nicotine salt bottle last?
In San José we measured 9 to 13 days per unit depending on the coil. The bottle outlasts the coil, so the coil is what you replace.
