Plum 100 ml bottle IQOS in San José: the compare shortlist
Plum in San José: 8 units tested over 8 weeks, 100 ml bottle formats, priced per 10 ml for Costa Rica.
How we tested Plum 100 ml bottle here
A plum 100 ml bottle from the compared options in Costa Rica costs about ₡3.0 per 10 ml once delivery is counted. That number decides whether the habit survives the first month, not the sticker price.
Most people searching IQOS in Costa Rica are not after a spec sheet. They want to know what it costs, how long it lasts and which shop will still service it in three months.
The short version: plum in San José works if the 100 ml bottle, the coil and the strength are chosen as one system. Everything below is what we measured while doing exactly that.
What a plum 100 ml bottle really costs in San José
There is no single best way to buy IQOS in Costa Rica. There is only the batch that arrived, the coil that came with it, and whether the shop tracks the production run.
How we tested plum in a 100 ml bottle
- Settle the draw first: mouth-to-lung or direct-to-lung, because it decides the coil and the liquid.
- Pick the 100 ml bottle that fits the device already on your desk, not the one on the headline page.
- Order before 14:00 so the parcel leaves the same day and lands inside 4–9 business days.
- The landed price per 10 ml after 4–9 business days, which is the only number worth comparing.
- A dated dispatch promise: before 14:00 same day, tracked, so no order is held to a warehouse cut-off.
- Returns window and who pays return postage when a 100 ml bottle arrives sealed but wrong.
- Child-resistant cap and tamper band on every plum bottle shipped into Costa Rica.
Where plum goes wrong
- Assuming varies is uniform across brands, because two suppliers can label the same number differently.
- Ordering in bulk without checking whether couriers in Costa Rica accept nicotine freight.
- Buying the cheapest 100 ml bottle available and repeating it because the first coil burnt.

Frequently asked questions
Is buying in bulk actually cheaper?
Not automatically. On plum the budget price and the premium price can sit within ₡3.0 per 10 ml once 4–9 business days is counted.
Is plum legal to sell in Costa Rica?
Costa Rica regulates nicotine imports under its health authority.
Why does plum taste burnt?
