Plain sub-ohm kit IQOS in San José: the cheap shortlist
Plain in San José: 9 units tested over 5 weeks, sub-ohm kit formats, priced per 10 ml for Costa Rica.
Stock, batch codes and the dispatch window
Plain sounds like one product. It is not: a sub-ohm kit running varies will taste nothing like the same blend on a different device, which is why we test before we recommend.
Plain prices move with import duty more than with brand. In San José that means the entry option and the premium option can close to within ₡1.85 per 10 ml.
If you only read one line: the sub-ohm kit you buy decides how long plain tastes right, and the coil inside it decides how long that is.
What a plain sub-ohm kit really costs in San José
Plain prices move with import duty more than with brand. In San José that means the entry option and the premium option can close to within ₡1.85 per 10 ml.
How we tested plain in a sub-ohm kit
- Order before 14:00 so the parcel leaves the same day and lands inside 4–9 business days.
- Settle the draw first: mouth-to-lung or direct-to-lung, because it decides the coil and the liquid.
- Pick the sub-ohm kit that fits the device already on your desk, not the one on the headline page.
- Batch code and production date, so a plain bottle turned in 5 weeks ago is not sold as new.
- A dated dispatch promise: before 14:00 same day, tracked, so no order is held to a warehouse cut-off.
- Stock depth: 9 lines held, so the shortlist does not turn into a special order.
- Returns window and who pays return postage when a sub-ohm kit arrives sealed but wrong.
Where plain goes wrong
- Buying the cheapest sub-ohm kit available and repeating it because the first coil burnt.
- Chasing a discount on a sub-ohm kit that then needs an adapter nobody in Costa Rica stocks.
- Mixing plain with a coil rated for a different wattage, which dulls the flavour and drains liquid faster.
The rules that apply here
