Plain 60 ml bottle IQOS in San José: the cheap shortlist
Plain in San José: 12 units tested over 9 weeks, 60 ml bottle formats, priced per 10 ml for Costa Rica.
Stock, batch codes and the dispatch window
A plain 60 ml bottle from the cheapest options in Costa Rica costs about ₡1.7 per 10 ml once delivery is counted. That number decides whether the habit survives the first month, not the sticker price.
Plain prices move with import duty more than with brand. In San José that means the entry option and the premium option can close to within ₡1.7 per 10 ml.
If you only read one line: the 60 ml bottle you buy decides how long plain tastes right, and the coil inside it decides how long that is.
What a plain 60 ml bottle really costs in San José
Most people searching IQOS in Costa Rica are not after a spec sheet. They want to know what it costs, how long it lasts and which shop will still service it in three months.
How we tested plain in a 60 ml bottle
- Choose strength against the ceiling in Costa Rica, which is the local legal limit for retail here.
- Order before 14:00 so the parcel leaves the same day and lands inside 4–9 business days.
- Settle the draw first: mouth-to-lung or direct-to-lung, because it decides the coil and the liquid.
- The landed price per 10 ml after 4–9 business days, which is the only number worth comparing.
- The listed nicotine ceiling, which is the local legal limit in Costa Rica, not a suggestion.
- Batch code and production date, so a plain bottle turned in 9 weeks ago is not sold as new.
- Returns window and who pays return postage when a 60 ml bottle arrives sealed but wrong.
Where plain goes wrong
- Ignoring the batch date on a 60 ml bottle and discovering the listed price was for old stock.
- Assuming varies is uniform across brands, because two suppliers can label the same number differently.
- Skipping the spare coil, which is the single part that decides how long plain in San José survives.
