Plain 100 ml bottle IQOS in San José: the review shortlist
Plain in San José: 12 units tested over 9 weeks, 100 ml bottle formats, priced per 10 ml for Costa Rica.
Coil life, liquid cost and the plain habit
Plain sounds like one product. It is not: a 100 ml bottle running varies will taste nothing like the same blend on a different device, which is why we test before we recommend.
If you are looking at plain in Costa Rica, the first question is not strength. It is whether the 100 ml bottle you are quoting actually fits the device on your desk.
If you only read one line: the 100 ml bottle you buy decides how long plain tastes right, and the coil inside it decides how long that is.
What a plain 100 ml bottle really costs in San José
If you are looking at plain in Costa Rica, the first question is not strength. It is whether the 100 ml bottle you are quoting actually fits the device on your desk.
How we tested plain in a 100 ml bottle
- Settle the draw first: mouth-to-lung or direct-to-lung, because it decides the coil and the liquid.
- Choose strength against the ceiling in Costa Rica, which is the local legal limit for retail here.
- Pick the 100 ml bottle that fits the device already on your desk, not the one on the headline page.
- Child-resistant cap and tamper band on every plain bottle shipped into Costa Rica.
- Spare parts availability for 100 ml bottle in Costa Rica, since tanks and pods go first.
- Batch code and production date, so a plain bottle turned in 9 weeks ago is not sold as new.
- Returns window and who pays return postage when a 100 ml bottle arrives sealed but wrong.
Where plain goes wrong
- Ordering in bulk without checking whether couriers in Costa Rica accept nicotine freight.
- Ignoring the batch date on a 100 ml bottle and discovering the listed price was for old stock.
- Matching strength to the device instead of the draw, which is why plain tastes flat after two days.
The rules that apply here
Costa Rica regulates nicotine imports under its health authority.
Wholesale lines to Costa Rica need import documents the retail shop does not; ask for them in writing before a bulk order.
