Pear squonk mod IQOS in San José: the review shortlist
Pear in San José: 15 units tested over 4 weeks, squonk mod formats, priced per 10 ml for Costa Rica.
What the label on Pear is allowed to say
Pear in a squonk mod is not the same product you see in a catalogue photo, and the price per 10 ml is where the gap shows. In San José the liquid, the coil and the power setting all have to agree before the flavour actually lands.
If you are looking at pear in Costa Rica, the first question is not strength. It is whether the squonk mod you are quoting actually fits the device on your desk.
The short version: pear in San José works if the squonk mod, the coil and the strength are chosen as one system. Everything below is what we measured while doing exactly that.
What a pear squonk mod really costs in San José
A pear squonk mod from the reviewed options in Costa Rica costs about ₡3.4 per 10 ml once delivery is counted. That number decides whether the habit survives the first month, not the sticker price.
How we tested pear in a squonk mod
- Settle the draw first: mouth-to-lung or direct-to-lung, because it decides the coil and the liquid.
- Pick the squonk mod that fits the device already on your desk, not the one on the headline page.
- Order before 14:00 so the parcel leaves the same day and lands inside 4–9 business days.
- A dated dispatch promise: before 14:00 same day, tracked, so no order is held to a warehouse cut-off.
- The listed nicotine ceiling, which is the local legal limit in Costa Rica, not a suggestion.
- Coil type inside the squonk mod, because mesh and wire age at different rates.
- Returns window and who pays return postage when a squonk mod arrives sealed but wrong.
Where pear goes wrong
- Ignoring the batch date on a squonk mod and discovering the listed price was for old stock.
- Ordering in bulk without checking whether couriers in Costa Rica accept nicotine freight.
- Skipping the spare coil, which is the single part that decides how long pear in San José survives.
The rules that apply here
Costa Rica regulates nicotine imports under its health authority. Shipping of nicotine to Costa Rica runs through tracked freight only, which is why the quoted window is stated per order.
Retail sales in Costa Rica sit under the same nicotine the label declares, which is the local legal limit. Anything above it is not sold through this channel.
