Pear refill pack IQOS in San José: the review shortlist
Pear in San José: 17 units tested over 4 weeks, refill pack formats, priced per 10 ml for Costa Rica.
Choosing a refill pack for pear
We run pear the same way in San José: same refill pack, same 4 days, same coil resistance. The only variable was the coil, and that turned out to be the thing buyers get wrong.
A pear refill pack from the reviewed options in Costa Rica costs about ₡2.98 per 10 ml once delivery is counted. That number decides whether the habit survives the first month, not the sticker price.
The short version: pear in San José works if the refill pack, the coil and the strength are chosen as one system. Everything below is what we measured while doing exactly that.
What a pear refill pack really costs in San José
Pear sounds like one product. It is not: a refill pack running varies will taste nothing like the same blend on a different device, which is why we test before we recommend.
How we tested pear in a refill pack
- Choose strength against the ceiling in Costa Rica, which is the local legal limit for retail here.
- Pick the refill pack that fits the device already on your desk, not the one on the headline page.
- Settle the draw first: mouth-to-lung or direct-to-lung, because it decides the coil and the liquid.
- Coil type inside the refill pack, because mesh and wire age at different rates.
- Batch code and production date, so a pear bottle turned in 4 weeks ago is not sold as new.
- Spare parts availability for refill pack in Costa Rica, since tanks and pods go first.
- Clear PG/VG ratio on the label, which predicts throat hit more accurately than strength.
Where pear goes wrong
- Ignoring the batch date on a refill pack and discovering the listed price was for old stock.
- Skipping the spare coil, which is the single part that decides how long pear in San José survives.
- Ordering in bulk without checking whether couriers in Costa Rica accept nicotine freight.
The rules that apply here

Not automatically. On pear the budget price and the premium price can sit within ₡2.98 per 10 ml once 4–9 business days is counted.
Why does pear taste burnt?
Almost always the coil, not the liquid. On the refill pack units we ran, a coil past 7 days turned the pear blend itself harsh.
