Pear pen device IQOS in San José: the price shortlist
Pear in San José: 8 units tested over 6 weeks, pen device formats, priced per 10 ml for Costa Rica.
Coil life, liquid cost and the pear habit
Pear in San José reaches the shelf in pen device formats, and the value ones are rarely the ones that stay in stock. Availability, not taste, is what breaks an order.
Pear prices move with import duty more than with brand. In San José that means the entry option and the premium option can close to within ₡3.48 per 10 ml.
The short version: pear in San José works if the pen device, the coil and the strength are chosen as one system. Everything below is what we measured while doing exactly that.
What a pear pen device really costs in San José
If you are looking at pear in Costa Rica, the first question is not strength. It is whether the pen device you are quoting actually fits the device on your desk.
How we tested pear in a pen device
- Settle the draw first: mouth-to-lung or direct-to-lung, because it decides the coil and the liquid.
- Order before 14:00 so the parcel leaves the same day and lands inside 4–9 business days.
- Pick the pen device that fits the device already on your desk, not the one on the headline page.
- Clear PG/VG ratio on the label, which predicts throat hit more accurately than strength.
- Spare parts availability for pen device in Costa Rica, since tanks and pods go first.
- Stock depth: 8 lines held, so the shortlist does not turn into a special order.
- Batch code and production date, so a pear bottle turned in 6 weeks ago is not sold as new.
Where pear goes wrong
- Buying the cheapest pen device available and repeating it because the first coil burnt.
- Mixing pear with a coil rated for a different wattage, which dulls the flavour and drains liquid faster.
- Skipping the spare coil, which is the single part that decides how long pear in San José survives.
