Peach pen device IQOS in San José: the order shortlist
Peach in San José: 15 units tested over 5 weeks, pen device formats, priced per 10 ml for Costa Rica.
Delivery, returns and what 4–9 business days really means
Peach in a pen device is not the same product you see in a catalogue photo, and the price per 10 ml is where the gap shows. In San José the liquid, the coil and the power setting all have to agree before the flavour actually lands.
Peach prices move with import duty more than with brand. In San José that means the entry option and the premium option can close to within ₡1.77 per 10 ml.
If you only read one line: the pen device you buy decides how long peach tastes right, and the coil inside it decides how long that is.
What a peach pen device really costs in San José
There is no single best way to buy IQOS in Costa Rica. There is only the batch that arrived, the coil that came with it, and whether the shop tracks the production run.
How we tested peach in a pen device
- Settle the draw first: mouth-to-lung or direct-to-lung, because it decides the coil and the liquid.
- Pick the pen device that fits the device already on your desk, not the one on the headline page.
- Choose strength against the ceiling in Costa Rica, which is the local legal limit for retail here.
- Coil type inside the pen device, because mesh and wire age at different rates.
- A dated dispatch promise: before 14:00 same day, tracked, so no order is held to a warehouse cut-off.
- Stock depth: 15 lines held, so the shortlist does not turn into a special order.
- Returns window and who pays return postage when a pen device arrives sealed but wrong.
Where peach goes wrong
- Matching strength to the device instead of the draw, which is why peach tastes flat after two days.
- Mixing peach with a coil rated for a different wattage, which dulls the flavour and drains liquid faster.
- Treating the advertised ₡29 entry kit as the real cost when refills run ₡1.77 per 10 ml.
The rules that apply here
Costa Rica regulates nicotine imports under its health authority.
Retail sales in Costa Rica sit under the same nicotine the label declares, which is the local legal limit. Anything above it is not sold through this channel.
