Home / Mintice starter kit IQOS in San José: the online shortlist

What the label on Mintice is allowed to say

There is no single best way to buy IQOS in Costa Rica. There is only the batch that arrived, the coil that came with it, and whether the shop tracks the production run.

Mintice prices move with import duty more than with brand. In San José that means the entry option and the premium option can close to within ₡3.45 per 10 ml.

If you only read one line: the starter kit you buy decides how long mintice tastes right, and the coil inside it decides how long that is.

What a mintice starter kit really costs in San José

Mintice starter kit reviews tend to be written after one tank. We run 17 units and 3 days per unit, because that is where the honest answer changes.

How we tested mintice in a starter kit

1. Order before 14:00 so the parcel leaves the same day and lands inside 4–9 business days.
2. Pick the starter kit that fits the device already on your desk, not the one on the headline page.
3. Choose strength against the ceiling in Costa Rica, which is the local legal limit for retail here.

• The landed price per 10 ml after 4–9 business days, which is the only number worth comparing.
• Coil type inside the starter kit, because mesh and wire age at different rates.
• Spare parts availability for starter kit in Costa Rica, since tanks and pods go first.
• Batch code and production date, so a mintice bottle turned in 3 weeks ago is not sold as new.

Where mintice goes wrong

• Buying the cheapest starter kit available and repeating it because the first coil burnt.
• Chasing a discount on a starter kit that then needs an adapter nobody in Costa Rica stocks.
• Mixing mintice with a coil rated for a different wattage, which dulls the flavour and drains liquid faster.
