Mintice starter kit IQOS in San José: the cheap shortlist
Mintice in San José: 20 units tested over 7 weeks, starter kit formats, priced per 10 ml for Costa Rica.
How we tested Mintice starter kit here
Mintice starter kit reviews tend to be written after one tank. We run 20 units and 7 days per unit, because that is where the honest answer changes.
Ordering into San José usually means waiting 4–9 business days. Plan the reorder around that, not around the flavour you like best.
The short version: mintice in San José works if the starter kit, the coil and the strength are chosen as one system. Everything below is what we measured while doing exactly that.
What a mintice starter kit really costs in San José
Mintice in San José reaches the shelf in starter kit formats, and the cheapest ones are rarely the ones that stay in stock. Availability, not taste, is what breaks an order.
How we tested mintice in a starter kit
- Order before 14:00 so the parcel leaves the same day and lands inside 4–9 business days.
- Settle the draw first: mouth-to-lung or direct-to-lung, because it decides the coil and the liquid.
- Pick the starter kit that fits the device already on your desk, not the one on the headline page.
- Stock depth: 20 lines held, so the shortlist does not turn into a special order.
- Child-resistant cap and tamper band on every mintice bottle shipped into Costa Rica.
- Clear PG/VG ratio on the label, which predicts throat hit more accurately than strength.
- Returns window and who pays return postage when a starter kit arrives sealed but wrong.
Where mintice goes wrong
- Ignoring the batch date on a starter kit and discovering the listed price was for old stock.
- Matching strength to the device instead of the draw, which is why mintice tastes flat after two days.
- Treating the advertised ₡65 entry kit as the real cost when refills run ₡3.59 per 10 ml.
The rules that apply here
Retail sales in Costa Rica sit under the same nicotine the label declares, which is the local legal limit. Anything above it is not sold through this channel.
Costa Rica regulates nicotine imports under its health authority. Shipping of nicotine to Costa Rica runs through tracked freight only, which is why the quoted window is stated per order.

Frequently asked questions
Why does mintice taste burnt?
Almost always the coil, not the liquid. On the starter kit units we ran, a coil past 6 days turned the mintice blend itself harsh.
How much does a starter kit cost per 10 ml?
On the last run in San José: about ₡3.59 per 10 ml liquid plus ₡65 for the entry kit, before any bulk discount.
How long does mintice in a starter kit last?
In San José we measured 7 to 20 days per unit depending on the coil. The bottle outlasts the coil, so the coil is what you replace.
