Mintice squonk mod IQOS in San José: the price shortlist
Mintice in San José: 12 units tested over 8 weeks, squonk mod formats, priced per 10 ml for Costa Rica.
Where buyers go wrong with mintice in Costa Rica
Mintice in a squonk mod is not the same product you see in a catalogue photo, and the price per 10 ml is where the gap shows. In San José the liquid, the coil and the power setting all have to agree before the flavour actually lands.
Mintice sounds like one product. It is not: a squonk mod running varies will taste nothing like the same blend on a different device, which is why we test before we recommend.
The short version: mintice in San José works if the squonk mod, the coil and the strength are chosen as one system. Everything below is what we measured while doing exactly that.
What a mintice squonk mod really costs in San José
A mintice squonk mod from the value options in Costa Rica costs about ₡2.24 per 10 ml once delivery is counted. That number decides whether the habit survives the first month, not the sticker price.
How we tested mintice in a squonk mod
- Choose strength against the ceiling in Costa Rica, which is the local legal limit for retail here.
- Pick the squonk mod that fits the device already on your desk, not the one on the headline page.
- Settle the draw first: mouth-to-lung or direct-to-lung, because it decides the coil and the liquid.
- The listed nicotine ceiling, which is the local legal limit in Costa Rica, not a suggestion.
- Child-resistant cap and tamper band on every mintice bottle shipped into Costa Rica.
- The landed price per 10 ml after 4–9 business days, which is the only number worth comparing.
- Stock depth: 12 lines held, so the shortlist does not turn into a special order.
Where mintice goes wrong
- Ignoring the batch date on a squonk mod and discovering the listed price was for old stock.
- Matching strength to the device instead of the draw, which is why mintice tastes flat after two days.
- Chasing a discount on a squonk mod that then needs an adapter nobody in Costa Rica stocks.
The rules that apply here

Retail sales in Costa Rica sit under the same nicotine the label declares, which is the local legal limit. Anything above it is not sold through this channel.

Frequently asked questions
Is mintice legal to sell in Costa Rica?
Costa Rica regulates nicotine imports under its health authority.
Why does mintice taste burnt?
Almost always the coil, not the liquid. On the squonk mod units we ran, a coil past 4 days turned the mintice blend itself harsh.
What nicotine strength should mintice start at?
Start at whatever Costa Rica allows on the label. If you already smoke, drop one step; if not, half of it for a squonk mod.
