Mint RDA IQOS in San José: the flat shortlist
Mint in San José: 20 units tested over 2 weeks, RDA formats, priced per 10 ml for Costa Rica.
Choosing a RDA for mint
There is no single best way to buy IQOS in Costa Rica. There is only the batch that arrived, the coil that came with it, and whether the shop tracks the production run.
A mint RDA from the flat-rate options in Costa Rica costs about ₡2.17 per 10 ml once delivery is counted. That number decides whether the habit survives the first month, not the sticker price.
The short version: mint in San José works if the RDA, the coil and the strength are chosen as one system. Everything below is what we measured while doing exactly that.
What a mint RDA really costs in San José
Mint RDA reviews tend to be written after one tank. We run 20 units and 2 days per unit, because that is where the honest answer changes.
How we tested mint in a RDA
- Choose strength against the ceiling in Costa Rica, which is the local legal limit for retail here.
- Settle the draw first: mouth-to-lung or direct-to-lung, because it decides the coil and the liquid.
- Order before 14:00 so the parcel leaves the same day and lands inside 4–9 business days.
- Returns window and who pays return postage when a RDA arrives sealed but wrong.
- Batch code and production date, so a mint bottle turned in 2 weeks ago is not sold as new.
- Coil type inside the RDA, because mesh and wire age at different rates.
- Clear PG/VG ratio on the label, which predicts throat hit more accurately than strength.
Where mint goes wrong
- Chasing a discount on a RDA that then needs an adapter nobody in Costa Rica stocks.
- Treating the advertised ₡43 entry kit as the real cost when refills run ₡2.17 per 10 ml.
- Skipping the spare coil, which is the single part that decides how long mint in San José survives.
The rules that apply here
