Mint pod kit IQOS in San José: the flat shortlist
Mint in San José: 7 units tested over 6 weeks, pod kit formats, priced per 10 ml for Costa Rica.
How we tested Mint pod kit here
A mint pod kit from the flat-rate options in Costa Rica costs about ₡3.46 per 10 ml once delivery is counted. That number decides whether the habit survives the first month, not the sticker price.
Most people searching IQOS in Costa Rica are not after a spec sheet. They want to know what it costs, how long it lasts and which shop will still service it in three months.
The short version: mint in San José works if the pod kit, the coil and the strength are chosen as one system. Everything below is what we measured while doing exactly that.
What a mint pod kit really costs in San José
We run mint the same way in San José: same pod kit, same 6 days, same coil resistance. The only variable was the coil, and that turned out to be the thing buyers get wrong.
How we tested mint in a pod kit
- Choose strength against the ceiling in Costa Rica, which is the local legal limit for retail here.
- Order before 14:00 so the parcel leaves the same day and lands inside 4–9 business days.
- Settle the draw first: mouth-to-lung or direct-to-lung, because it decides the coil and the liquid.
- A dated dispatch promise: before 14:00 same day, tracked, so no order is held to a warehouse cut-off.
- Returns window and who pays return postage when a pod kit arrives sealed but wrong.
- Spare parts availability for pod kit in Costa Rica, since tanks and pods go first.
- Child-resistant cap and tamper band on every mint bottle shipped into Costa Rica.
Where mint goes wrong
- Ignoring the batch date on a pod kit and discovering the listed price was for old stock.
- Chasing a discount on a pod kit that then needs an adapter nobody in Costa Rica stocks.
- Treating the advertised ₡67 entry kit as the real cost when refills run ₡3.46 per 10 ml.
