Melon refill pack IQOS in San José: the deals shortlist
Melon in San José: 16 units tested over 7 weeks, refill pack formats, priced per 10 ml for Costa Rica.
Coil life, liquid cost and the melon habit
Melon prices move with import duty more than with brand. In San José that means the entry option and the premium option can close to within ₡2.86 per 10 ml.
Melon refill pack reviews tend to be written after one tank. We run 16 units and 7 days per unit, because that is where the honest answer changes.
If you only read one line: the refill pack you buy decides how long melon tastes right, and the coil inside it decides how long that is.
What a melon refill pack really costs in San José
We run melon the same way in San José: same refill pack, same 7 days, same coil resistance. The only variable was the coil, and that turned out to be the thing buyers get wrong.
How we tested melon in a refill pack
- Settle the draw first: mouth-to-lung or direct-to-lung, because it decides the coil and the liquid.
- Pick the refill pack that fits the device already on your desk, not the one on the headline page.
- Choose strength against the ceiling in Costa Rica, which is the local legal limit for retail here.
- Batch code and production date, so a melon bottle turned in 7 weeks ago is not sold as new.
- A dated dispatch promise: before 14:00 same day, tracked, so no order is held to a warehouse cut-off.
- Clear PG/VG ratio on the label, which predicts throat hit more accurately than strength.
- Returns window and who pays return postage when a refill pack arrives sealed but wrong.
Where melon goes wrong
- Treating the advertised ₡67 entry kit as the real cost when refills run ₡2.86 per 10 ml.
- Ordering in bulk without checking whether couriers in Costa Rica accept nicotine freight.
- Assuming varies is uniform across brands, because two suppliers can label the same number differently.

Can I order IQOS online in Costa Rica?
Yes, tracked dispatch before 14:00, and delivery lands in 4–9 business days. Stock is batch-traced, so the bottle you receive carries a dated code.
Why does melon taste burnt?
Almost always the coil, not the liquid. On the refill pack units we ran, a coil past 5 days turned the melon blend itself harsh.
