Choosing a refill pack for melon
A melon refill pack from the budget options in Costa Rica costs about ₡2.5 per 10 ml once delivery is counted. That number decides whether the habit survives the first month, not the sticker price.
The honest read on melon: 19 units through the same routine over 7 weeks, and the difference between a good batch and a bad one came down to batch age, not the sticker price.
The short version: melon in San José works if the refill pack, the coil and the strength are chosen as one system. Everything below is what we measured while doing exactly that.
What a melon refill pack really costs in San José
Melon prices move with import duty more than with brand. In San José that means the entry option and the premium option can close to within ₡2.5 per 10 ml.
How we tested melon in a refill pack
- Pick the refill pack that fits the device already on your desk, not the one on the headline page.
- Order before 14:00 so the parcel leaves the same day and lands inside 4–9 business days.
- Choose strength against the ceiling in Costa Rica, which is the local legal limit for retail here.
- Coil type inside the refill pack, because mesh and wire age at different rates.
- Spare parts availability for refill pack in Costa Rica, since tanks and pods go first.
- A dated dispatch promise: before 14:00 same day, tracked, so no order is held to a warehouse cut-off.
- The listed nicotine ceiling, which is the local legal limit in Costa Rica, not a suggestion.
Where melon goes wrong
- Buying the cheapest refill pack available and repeating it because the first coil burnt.
- Ordering in bulk without checking whether couriers in Costa Rica accept nicotine freight.
- Chasing a discount on a refill pack that then needs an adapter nobody in Costa Rica stocks.

Frequently asked questions
How long does melon in a refill pack last?
In San José we measured 7 to 19 days per unit depending on the coil. The bottle outlasts the coil, so the coil is what you replace.
Why does melon taste burnt?
Almost always the coil, not the liquid. On the refill pack units we ran, a coil past 4 days turned the melon blend itself harsh.
Is buying in bulk actually cheaper?
Not automatically. On melon the budget price and the premium price can sit within ₡2.5 per 10 ml once 4–9 business days is counted.
