Melon pen device IQOS in San José: the review shortlist
Melon in San José: 15 units tested over 9 weeks, pen device formats, priced per 10 ml for Costa Rica.
Delivery, returns and what 4–9 business days really means
Melon pen device reviews tend to be written after one tank. We run 15 units and 9 days per unit, because that is where the honest answer changes.
The honest read on melon: 15 units through the same routine over 9 weeks, and the difference between a good batch and a bad one came down to batch age, not the sticker price.
The short version: melon in San José works if the pen device, the coil and the strength are chosen as one system. Everything below is what we measured while doing exactly that.
What a melon pen device really costs in San José
We run melon the same way in San José: same pen device, same 9 days, same coil resistance. The only variable was the coil, and that turned out to be the thing buyers get wrong.
How we tested melon in a pen device
- Pick the pen device that fits the device already on your desk, not the one on the headline page.
- Order before 14:00 so the parcel leaves the same day and lands inside 4–9 business days.
- Settle the draw first: mouth-to-lung or direct-to-lung, because it decides the coil and the liquid.
- Batch code and production date, so a melon bottle turned in 9 weeks ago is not sold as new.
- Coil type inside the pen device, because mesh and wire age at different rates.
- Clear PG/VG ratio on the label, which predicts throat hit more accurately than strength.
- A dated dispatch promise: before 14:00 same day, tracked, so no order is held to a warehouse cut-off.
Where melon goes wrong
- Skipping the spare coil, which is the single part that decides how long melon in San José survives.
- Chasing a discount on a pen device that then needs an adapter nobody in Costa Rica stocks.
- Buying the cheapest pen device available and repeating it because the first coil burnt.
The rules that apply here
Retail sales in Costa Rica sit under the same nicotine the label declares, which is the local legal limit. Anything above it is not sold through this channel.
Wholesale lines to Costa Rica need import documents the retail shop does not; ask for them in writing before a bulk order.

Frequently asked questions
How long does melon in a pen device last?
In San José we measured 9 to 15 days per unit depending on the coil. The bottle outlasts the coil, so the coil is what you replace.
Can I order IQOS online in Costa Rica?
Yes, tracked dispatch before 14:00, and delivery lands in 4–9 business days. Stock is batch-traced, so the bottle you receive carries a dated code.
Why does melon taste burnt?
Almost always the coil, not the liquid. On the pen device units we ran, a coil past 4 days turned the melon blend itself harsh.
