Melon box mod IQOS in San José: the compare shortlist
Melon in San José: 8 units tested over 6 weeks, box mod formats, priced per 10 ml for Costa Rica.
Stock, batch codes and the dispatch window
Melon sounds like one product. It is not: a box mod running varies will taste nothing like the same blend on a different device, which is why we test before we recommend.
There is no single best way to buy IQOS in Costa Rica. There is only the batch that arrived, the coil that came with it, and whether the shop tracks the production run.
Below is the run we did for this search: 8 units, box mod, same room temperature, same juice rotation. Where results varied, the variation is printed rather than averaged away.
What a melon box mod really costs in San José
Melon box mod reviews tend to be written after one tank. We run 8 units and 6 days per unit, because that is where the honest answer changes.
How we tested melon in a box mod
- Choose strength against the ceiling in Costa Rica, which is the local legal limit for retail here.
- Order before 14:00 so the parcel leaves the same day and lands inside 4–9 business days.
- Pick the box mod that fits the device already on your desk, not the one on the headline page.
- Child-resistant cap and tamper band on every melon bottle shipped into Costa Rica.
- Clear PG/VG ratio on the label, which predicts throat hit more accurately than strength.
- Coil type inside the box mod, because mesh and wire age at different rates.
- Stock depth: 8 lines held, so the shortlist does not turn into a special order.
Where melon goes wrong
- Buying the cheapest box mod available and repeating it because the first coil burnt.
- Mixing melon with a coil rated for a different wattage, which dulls the flavour and drains liquid faster.
- Treating the advertised ₡67 entry kit as the real cost when refills run ₡2.68 per 10 ml.

Frequently asked questions
Why does melon taste burnt?
Almost always the coil, not the liquid. On the box mod units we ran, a coil past 6 days turned the melon blend itself harsh.
What nicotine strength should melon start at?
Start at whatever Costa Rica allows on the label. If you already smoke, drop one step; if not, half of it for a box mod.
Do you ship tracked orders to Costa Rica?
Yes, tracked to 4–9 business days, with the same-day cut-off at 14:00. Bulk orders get an import note attached before dispatch.
