Mango starter kit IQOS in San José: the online shortlist
Mango in San José: 7 units tested over 4 weeks, starter kit formats, priced per 10 ml for Costa Rica.
Choosing a starter kit for mango
A mango starter kit from the online options in Costa Rica costs about ₡1.69 per 10 ml once delivery is counted. That number decides whether the habit survives the first month, not the sticker price.
If you are looking at mango in Costa Rica, the first question is not strength. It is whether the starter kit you are quoting actually fits the device on your desk.
The short version: mango in San José works if the starter kit, the coil and the strength are chosen as one system. Everything below is what we measured while doing exactly that.
What a mango starter kit really costs in San José
Mango in San José reaches the shelf in starter kit formats, and the online ones are rarely the ones that stay in stock. Availability, not taste, is what breaks an order.
How we tested mango in a starter kit
- Choose strength against the ceiling in Costa Rica, which is the local legal limit for retail here.
- Settle the draw first: mouth-to-lung or direct-to-lung, because it decides the coil and the liquid.
- Pick the starter kit that fits the device already on your desk, not the one on the headline page.
- Coil type inside the starter kit, because mesh and wire age at different rates.
- Stock depth: 7 lines held, so the shortlist does not turn into a special order.
- Batch code and production date, so a mango bottle turned in 4 weeks ago is not sold as new.
- Child-resistant cap and tamper band on every mango bottle shipped into Costa Rica.
Where mango goes wrong
- Treating the advertised ₡44 entry kit as the real cost when refills run ₡1.69 per 10 ml.
- Mixing mango with a coil rated for a different wattage, which dulls the flavour and drains liquid faster.
- Chasing a discount on a starter kit that then needs an adapter nobody in Costa Rica stocks.
The rules that apply here
Costa Rica regulates nicotine imports under its health authority.
Retail sales in Costa Rica sit under the same nicotine the label declares, which is the local legal limit. Anything above it is not sold through this channel.

Frequently asked questions
Do you ship tracked orders to Costa Rica?
Yes, tracked to 4–9 business days, with the same-day cut-off at 14:00. Bulk orders get an import note attached before dispatch.
Why does mango taste burnt?
Almost always the coil, not the liquid. On the starter kit units we ran, a coil past 6 days turned the mango blend itself harsh.
How long does mango in a starter kit last?
In San José we measured 4 to 7 days per unit depending on the coil. The bottle outlasts the coil, so the coil is what you replace.
