Mango box mod IQOS in San José: the review shortlist
Mango in San José: 15 units tested over 3 weeks, box mod formats, priced per 10 ml for Costa Rica.
Stock, batch codes and the dispatch window
A mango box mod from the reviewed options in Costa Rica costs about ₡1.93 per 10 ml once delivery is counted. That number decides whether the habit survives the first month, not the sticker price.
Mango box mod reviews tend to be written after one tank. We run 15 units and 3 days per unit, because that is where the honest answer changes.
The short version: mango in San José works if the box mod, the coil and the strength are chosen as one system. Everything below is what we measured while doing exactly that.
What a mango box mod really costs in San José
Mango sounds like one product. It is not: a box mod running varies will taste nothing like the same blend on a different device, which is why we test before we recommend.
How we tested mango in a box mod
- Order before 14:00 so the parcel leaves the same day and lands inside 4–9 business days.
- Pick the box mod that fits the device already on your desk, not the one on the headline page.
- Settle the draw first: mouth-to-lung or direct-to-lung, because it decides the coil and the liquid.
- Returns window and who pays return postage when a box mod arrives sealed but wrong.
- Clear PG/VG ratio on the label, which predicts throat hit more accurately than strength.
- Spare parts availability for box mod in Costa Rica, since tanks and pods go first.
- The listed nicotine ceiling, which is the local legal limit in Costa Rica, not a suggestion.
Where mango goes wrong
- Mixing mango with a coil rated for a different wattage, which dulls the flavour and drains liquid faster.
- Buying the cheapest box mod available and repeating it because the first coil burnt.
- Chasing a discount on a box mod that then needs an adapter nobody in Costa Rica stocks.
The rules that apply here
Costa Rica regulates nicotine imports under its health authority. Shipping of nicotine to Costa Rica runs through tracked freight only, which is why the quoted window is stated per order.
Wholesale lines to Costa Rica need import documents the retail shop does not; ask for them in writing before a bulk order.

Frequently asked questions
Is mango legal to sell in Costa Rica?
Costa Rica regulates nicotine imports under its health authority.
What nicotine strength should mango start at?
Start at whatever Costa Rica allows on the label. If you already smoke, drop one step; if not, half of it for a box mod.
How long does mango in a box mod last?
In San José we measured 3 to 15 days per unit depending on the coil. The bottle outlasts the coil, so the coil is what you replace.
